Puʻuhonua ʻo Ka Ululehua

About Us

Puʻuhonua ʻo Ka Ululehua is a new program within EPIC ‘Ohana, Inc (EPIC). EPIC’s mission is to strengthen ‘ohana (family) and enhance the welfare of children and youth through transformative processes that are respectful, collaborative and solution-oriented. EPIC recognizes that families are the foundation of our community, and their well-being is inextricably linked to the health and prosperity of the community, state, and nation.

Puʻuhonua ʻo Ka Ululehua expands these efforts by providing a cultural space for Native Hawaiian survivors of domestic/sexual/family violence to participate in Native Hawaiian practices that promote individual and family wellbeing and healing. The purpose Puʻuhonua ʻo Ka Ululehua is to promote pono (balance and wellbeing) for Native Hawaiians and community members through a contemporary pu‘uhonua that will establish and maintain best practices for empowering individuals and families who experience domestic/sexual/family violence.
